"In the short films I've created, they're very emotional and personal and touching," she said. "I think the more we talk about it and more people can relate to it, the more we can raise awareness, because in our country there are a lot of people who are suffering like that and they don't have a voice."

While most of the films have focused on personal stories or the struggles of living sweedish men in a small town, Maud said one is about the state of affairs in general. She said it's not just about what's happening to one specific group, but about a state's overall economic situation.

She has been taking classes at a local university. She is also interested in studying journalism as a career, but she's open to getting out there and exploring as much as she can, she said.

She added that she doesn't want to take the time away from school to do the work, but she is interested in it and she is not afraid to share her experiences.

She said the films are "very honest, very straightforward, very raw." One of the things she hopes people who are watching the films will see is the "overwhelmingly positive and positive experiences of Muslim men and women," she said. She said she thinks the films are going to get out there and "show the world that they exist." "I'm hoping the films will reach more people, more people who can see the stories, and hopefully spread the word so we can change this world for the better." She also hopes people who watch the films can have a better understanding of Islam. "I think we can help people, we can really help people understand," she said. "I think people can learn, you can actually learn. I'm not really trying to tell anybody anything." "If you want to make sure your family and community and your friends are safe, and you don't want your community to have to fight to protect itself, then, if you are willing to make some effort, you can really make this a better world for everyone," she said. "Hopefully the films help people who are uncomfortable to see how beautiful they are." "But if they're just doing it out of a sincere love of Islam, then it's a whole different story."
