He is a graduate of the University of Washington, where he studied International Relations and Political Science. Makki joined TCAJ in 2004, and has worked as a staff attorney since then. Before joining TCAJ, Makki worked for a variety of law firms in Washington state, including the law firm of H. G. Bowers. He was a member of the American Bar Association and the Washington State Bar, and has extensive experience in both state and federal courtrooms. Makki has litigated over 60 federal cases. Makki's practice focuses on representing immigrants and people with disabilities, including immigration detainees, refugees, and detainees from countries that the government deems dangerous.
