The Basics of Muslim-American Dating

When I first started to date, my dating life was pretty boring. I was living in California, and had just moved back into the States. In my city, there were a lot of different kinds of Muslims. I would have to get an advanced education to qualify for my master's degree in English. So I spent about four or five years on a student visa in California, studying the language, getting an advanced education in that field, and then I ended up being able to travel to London to do a master's program in English there. Then I came back to Canada to apply for a teaching visa to teach in the Philippines, and I ended up getting that for three or four years.

How did you come up with your dream job?

In 2002, a man named David H. and a woman named Laura G. approached me, offered to be in my class, and said, "Hey, we want to teach English in Asia. What do you think? Can you help us?" They were in their 30s or 40s, not college-aged. They had never met or talked to a foreigner. They said they were working in Hong Kong and they were teaching English in Thailand and India and other places. So I said okay, if you need help, I'll help you, and I would make $100,000 a year for four years, if you go to Thailand with me.

But they didn't. I went to India first, to India. I was at a hotel, with a bunch of foreigners. They were working as translators and I was teaching. I had to use a translator, but I taught English. I didn't need to know a word, I was just saying what they wanted me to say, just to let them translate it for me. I was very shy, because I'm a little bit shy. I would get a lot of questions from Indians about Islam, or Indian Muslims. I got so many questions from them, that I just didn't want to answer them anymore. I used to go to the mosque for Friday prayers, but I started not going anymore. I was going to try and make a lot of money, but I was still a bit shy. I had a lot of people from my school who were studying in Germany, and they wanted to meet me, so I went over there. After I met them, they were really nice. They invited me to spend a week there. They said they wanted to see my country, and they 'd give me a visa so that I could go there. That was when I made the decision to leave my studies for a while. I was happy with the life I was living. I was getting better and better every day, but I knew it was going to be a long sex dating bristol time before I would have a visa. That was the year I left.

A few weeks later, I landed in India and started living in a big mansion. I got a job as an assistant to a prominent jewellery designer. I also got to live in a large mansion with my best friend from school.
