Edmonton is a very friendly place. If you are from Alberta, you will not feel any different when you move here! It's a very friendly and edmonton muslim easygoing city with many different people and it's really easy to meet and make friends here! The most important thing is to be respectful of everyone, you will most likely not know every person, but everyone here will always greet you with a smile. Edmonton is one of those places that if you get tired of the cold, you can always go and stay at their hotel. If you need a hot shower, you can find a private bath in any hotel and the facilities are so good that I recommend it all the time! It doesn't get any better than that! The food here is really good. It can get pretty busy and if you don't need a reservation, just walk in! I recommend a little bit of everything and try a little of everything from the different menus! I like to get some Thai food as well, just because they serve it at the restaurant so it's pretty affordable and convenient. If you have a family member or loved one that has a medical condition that is not covered by health insurance, I would suggest you get one or two consultations and see what they are up to before making a decision about visiting the city! I don't think that a person with a disability should be turned away from the city, it is a great place to spend time and get to know the people around you.

I'm a Muslim from Alberta, Canada and I don't have a lot of positive memories of living in Edmonton, Canada. It is a city I have lived in for two years, but I will probably have to leave by the end of 2018 due to the extreme climate of the city. Edmonton is definitely not like any other Western city, with snow days and days of extreme heat (which is the reason why I chose to go to the city for a month to live). But with the new mayor, Naheed Nenshi, coming into office and some changes in the city that I have not seen in years, the city has started to feel a bit more welcoming and inclusive of all races and cultures. It seems like there are more things to do outside the city, and many of them have been brought here from abroad and renovated by the new generation. I would definitely say that there is a lot more going on in the city now that the old generation have left, but there is still a lot of that old generation and old city that is still going on, and they are not really doing much. They are more focused on their businesses and having fun. It feels like things have calmed down a little bit though. It feels like the city is more welcoming now, and it is a nice change from the constant heat and snow days. As I wrote about, I don't even know what the city of Edmonton is really all about anymore. I can't even say anything about the weather. If you want to go out, it's best to book the bus on time.
